David J is the epitome of Urban in Jakarta's urban scene. He started by playing at house parties and small bars in Jakarta and Sydney.  After coming back from studying music in Australia, he was recruited by Indonesia's first hip-hop party promoter, Soul Menace Productions.

He quickly gained more knowledge and experience of the whole entertainment scene by playing at various parties and events.  He has since played at Blowfish's "Uptown Groove", Centro's "Superclub RnB", Embassy's "Mashed Potato", Dragonfly's "House of Soul", Retro's and now Blowfish's "Rewind", among other parties and events.

He has opened and supported artists such as “The Roots” and shared the decks with DJs such as “Seiji (Bugs In The Attic)”, “DJ Missill (France)”, and “DJ Irwan Kartosen (Holland)” just to mention a few. He has also played in events and festivals such as "Sneaker Pimps", “Soulnation” and "Urbanize" to show off more of his versatility, and for those urban cats who break and groove down to those soulful funky rhythms.
